GINGHAM

Our first typeface, Gingham is super thin but full of character. Although its applications as a text face are limited, it responds well to scaling and is very economical in many instances.

The non-lining numerals are particuarly nicely proportioned and have even been used as cast metal signage.

The name Gingham was so given due to the designer's love of textiles coupled with the typeface's homely vernacular appeal.

Subsequent fonts produced at Letterbox have been given names of textiles.Gingham shipped with the first Ampersand book in 1996 and is included in the Ampersand box sets.
